You get one
One life per character.
RogueMT2
Metin2 as a roguelite — one life per character
Every character is a run. One that dies is fallen and is never played again — nothing is dropped and nobody loots you, your equipment simply stays on a character you can no longer reach.
One life per character.
Your body stays in the world. You watch from it.
Deaths in a duel or in the arena cost you nothing.
The character, and everything on it — equipment, inventory, levels, skills. None of it drops. It stays where it is, on a character you cannot play.
Your account is untouched. Remaining character slots and your storage are exactly as you left them.
Retreating costs you nothing. One more pull can cost you the whole character.
The careless deaths you shrug off on an ordinary server are the ones that end a character here.
A character you took to level 60 is sixty levels of your time, and it does not come back. Every level you keep is worth something because of it.
That is the roguelite bargain: a run can end, and the fact that it can is what makes getting further mean anything.
EXP rates are tuned around the run — fast enough that progression stays fun, slow enough that reaching a level still means something.
A yang reward on each level, scaling as you climb — the deeper you get, the more the next level is worth.
Three offered at random, you keep one. No two characters develop the same way, and you never rebuild the same build twice.
| RogueMT2 | Ordinary Metin2 | |
|---|---|---|
| Death | The character is fallen | Respawn, small penalty |
| Your gear when you die | Out of reach | Still yours |
| Risk while farming | The whole character | Almost nothing |
| What a high level proves | Survival | Time played |
| On every level up | Three passives offered, you keep one | Stat and skill points |
| Yang for levelling | Paid each level, scaling as you climb | None |
Takes a moment. It is the same account you log into the game with.
Four character slots, one life each. Choose carefully.
Where the server is announced, where deaths get mourned, and where to shout if something is broken.
No one has died yet. That will not last.
